Lollipop Chainsaw
Is an upcoming action Video game being developed by Grasshopper Manufactuer for the PS3 and XBOX360, video game consoles. It focuses on Juliet Starling, a cheerleader fighting zombies in a fictional Calafornia high school. Grasshopper CEO Suda 51 will serve as creative director for the game.
Lollipop Chainsaw focuses on zombie hunter and cheerleader Juliet Starling (voiced by Tara Strong) who, along with members of her family and her boyfriend, a disembodied head, fight hordes of zombies in San Romero High School, where Starling formerly cheered. The enemy zombies are led by "a group of zombie rock and roll lords". The zombie outbreak has been caused by Juliet's former classmate, an evil goth sorcerer named Swan.
It has not been officially stated what type of game Lollipop Chainsaw is, but it appears to be a hack and slash akin to Suda's No More Heros games. In the game, Juliet's main weapon will be her chainsaw, but she will also be able to use her acrobatic skills to kill zombies. When the player completes certain tasks in the game, Juliet's chainsaw will be upgraded. Suda has also said that part of the gameplay "might involve sound".
Before its announcement in July 2011 Lollipop Chainsaw was first mentioned as an unnamed game featuring "stylish action" in an October 2010 article on 1up.com detailing Kadokawa Shoten's partnership with Grasshopper and Prope. Suda described it as featuring "really extreme twists" and being very funny. He optimistically declared that he thinks the game will be "a really big title in the worldwide market.
It is also reported that Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment will publish the game outside of Japan and that filmmaker James Gunn has a hand in developing the game's story and characters. Gunn has said that many of the people he works with in his films and other projects are also working on Lollipop Chainsaw.
On Wednesday, February 1st, 2012, it was announced that James Euringer also known as Jimmy Urine from the electro-punk band Mindless Self Indulgence would be composing the music for the boss segments. He will also provide the voice for Zed, a punk-rock themed boss.
Fable: The Journey
(has not been in development very long)
Is the fourth video game in the Fable series, developed by Lionhead Studios and published by Microsoft Studios for Xbox 360, as an exclusive Kinect title. It was announced at the 2011Electronic Entertainment Expo, with a debut trailer and demo shown. It was also stated duringE3 2011 that the game is a standalone title, separate from the main series.
Unlike previous games, Fable: The Journey will be developed using Unreal Engine 3.
Fable: The Journey is set five years after the events of Fable III and focuses on Theresa and a Dweller as they journey across Albion to reach the Spire, in order to escape an entity known as The Corruption, which is following them.
Fable: The Journey is a first-person shooter, that has players use Kinect to manipulate magic in order to defeat enemies. By using your hands to perform certain gestures, players can enter a spell crafting mode, which allows you to draw items with your hands and then use them as spells. This enables players to create shields, spears and hammers in order to defeat enemies. Players can also create fishing rods and telescopes, which can then be used in minigames. As you defeat enemies, you collect life force, which can be used to unlock new spells. Life force is similar to the experience system of previous Fable titles.
