Is an upcoming three-dimensional (3-D) puzzle video game by Jonathan Blow, an independent developer and the creator of Braid. The game was announced in August 2009 and is scheduled for release in 2012 for PC,  Xbox 360,  and PS3.  In interviews, Blow described the work as "an exploration-puzzle game on an uninhabited island."  A playable demonstration version of the game was available to play at the Penny Arcade Expo in September 2010, allowing the player to move about parts of the island and solve selected puzzles.
Gameplay for The Witness was first revealed at the 2010 Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle, Washington, and was described in-depth by Stephen Totilo of Kotaku who also posted video footage of game play witnessed at the event. The preliminary version of the game allowed players to walk about the island from a First-person Perspective Throughout the island are blue panels that players can interact with; those seen in the demonstration were primarily mazes, requiring players to draw a line from a starting point to a finish point. Other panels showed more complex mazes to be completed. Completing each panel unlocked other areas to explore or panels to complete.  Blow has stated that there is more to the game than these mazes, in response to concerns from players; to Blow, "the point is the magic that happens in the player's mind when he understands the subtle things that the mazes are saying - because the mazes aren't just puzzles, they are lines of communication that aggregate, become more complex and eventually say surprising things".

Star Wars Kinect

Is an upcoming Star Wars rail shooter video game by LucasArts and Terminal Reality and published by Microsoft Games Studios for the Xbox 360 that utilizes the Kinect motion peripheral. Intended for players of all ages, it is set to be released in the winter of 2011.
The playable character in Star Wars Kinect is a Jedi and one of several new characters who will be introduced by the game. Using the controller-free Kinect system, the player stands in front of the television and uses hands to lift and throw objects with the Force or wield a lightsaber uses body movement to drive to control X-wing Starfighters and podracers or uses a voice component to make additional commands. It takes places during the prequel trilogy timeline of the Star Wars universe.
The game also includes settings from the original trilogy such as the planet Bespin featured in Star Wars Episode V- The Empire Strikes Back.  The player will also fight Darth Vader in the game.
Microsoft Game Studios had planned to develop a Star Wars game since early in the development of the Kinect system. Kudo Tsunoda, creative director for Microsoft, said of this decision: "It's one of those things where you can see how the unique parts of Kinect can bring to life the fantasy of being a Jedi in a way no other game console or media can do."  Craig Derrick was LucasArts' lead producer on Star Wars Kinect. The visuals of the animation were augmented in such a way to make the Jedi fighting techniques appear realistic because, Derrick said: "What we found early in development is that no one wants to look like 'Star Wars Kid' in front of their friends."  The release of the game was formally announced at the Electronic Entertainment Expo, on June 6, 2011, where the first gameplay trailer and portions of the game were shown.

Devil's Third

Is an upcoming 2013 third person shooter video game,  developed by Valhalla Game Studios, and published by THQ  for the Playstation 3,  and XBOX 360.  This is the first game developed by Tomonobu Itagaki, known for creating the Ninja Gaiden and Dead Or Alive franchises, after leaving Tecmo in 2008 and forming his own game studio, Valhalla Game Studios, along with other members who had left Team Ninja in 2009. This is also the first game Tomonobu Itagaki is developing for the PlayStation 3. The game is a departure from Itagaki's previous genre, fighting games, while this game is a third-person shooter instead.

The game's primary gameplay is a third-person shooter combined with deep melee and fighting systems which game director, Tomonobu Itagaki, is known for.

Though little is known about the story so far, it can be seen from concept art that the game will be taking place around the world with Asian,  European,  and American locations being illustrated in the game's concept art. The game's backstory is based on the Kessler Syndrome Story where debris built up in low-Earth orbit may collide with each other and subsequently compound which causes increased orbital collisions causing the use of space travel and satellites unfeasible.

Tomb Raider

Is an upcoming action adventure video game, and the ninth instalment of the Tomb Raider series published by Square Enix and developed by Crystal Dynamics as their fifth related franchise title. The first in a third continuation, the game is set to provide no correlation to the entirety of the previous entries in the series; a reboot that emphasizes the reconstructed origins of the cultually influential lead character Lara Croft.

Tomb Raider is scheduled for release in the autumn of 2012 for PC,  Playstation 3,  and XBOX 360.

Fresh from academy and in search of lost relics, a 21-year-old Lara Croft  journeys to an island off the coast of Japan aboard the Endurance, a salvage vessel helmed by Captain Conrad Roth. Before anchoring at bay, the ship is cleaved in two by an unforeseen storm leaving Lara separated from any other survivors and washed ashore. She must endure physical and emotional torture in order to survive theisland.

The game begins with Lara devoid of any weapons, tools or essentials such as food and water, which the player must search for in order to survive.  Sections of the island are restricted to the player until Lara is able to perform specific physical abilities achieved via a "skill system", or obtained the necessary equipment to advance.  At frequent base camps throughout the world, the player can combine pick-ups to create new items, improve Lara's abilities and/or fast travel to previously discovered base camps to avoid copious amounts of backtracking.  There is a "much larger emphasis" on combat, as instead of using a lock-on aiming system akin to previous Tomb Raiders this game will employ a manual "free aim" mechanic.
The game introduces a "survival instinct" that Lara can use to solve puzzles. It will highlight useful items for use if the player is stuck in solving a puzzle. However, Lara can only do this while standing still. Some elements of the world crumble when Lara stands on them for too long. When the player jumps to grab a ledge, Lara will no longer magnetize to the nearest ledge like in the previous instalments. The player will also be able to change direction mid-air. Puzzles will be more complex than previous titles, it will use elements of fire, water, wind, and friction. Helping hands and UI will be kept to a minimum, except for indications of burnable objects, health items, and during quick time events.

Dudebro: My Shit is Fucked Up So I Got To Shoot/Slice You II: It's Straight-Up Dawg Time

Is a top-down, 3rd-person perspective shooting game which is currently being developed by members of the NeoGAF community. The game is set to be released as a PC format game in 2011. It is intended to parody modern hardcore videogames, and contrary to its name, is not a sequel to any previously-released game title.

The game follows the story of B.R.O. Alliance Forces members John Dudebro and his sidekick, Habemus Chicken. At the start of the game a briefing with the B.R.O. General takes place, where the protagonists are shown a polaroid picture of the eye-scarred and mustachioed Pesquali on the map. Pesquali is a terrorist known to have been selling illegal weapons in the Middle East.

The game is a 3D top-down shooter presented in a 3rd person perspective, with 2D sprite-based characters in 3D environments. The player controls Dudebro's movement with the keyboard and aims with the mouse. Weapons and upgrades are available through the player environment. The gameplay is mission-based, with each map offering a certain number of missions that must be completed in order to unlock the level's boss door. Missions are accessed by touching medal-shaped markers scattered across the map and accepted in a subsequent prompt, and they can involve changes in level design, weapon sets and enemy spawns. Mission objectives can involve killing enemies, doing speedruns, saving girls, finding hidden objects or surviving for a set amount of time. Completing each mission awards the user a medal, and some of them unlock new paths in the level to give the player access to more missions or allow easier backtracking. Completed missions and levels can be replayed anytime, and unlocked paths stay unlocked in subsequent playthroughs

Saints Row: The Third

Is a nonliner third-person shooter video game  being developed by Volition inc,  and published by THQ.  It is to be released on November 15, 2011 for PC,  Playstation 3,  and XBOX 360,  It is the third and final title in the Saints Row series.  As in Saints Row 2, the player controls the leader of the Third Street Saints. The game world is the fictional city of Steelport, and the story centers around the gang war between the Saints and The Syndicate, a rivalcriminal group.

Having defeated the rival gangs of Stilwater at the end of Saints Row 2 and overthrown the influence of the Ultor Corporation, the Saints have found themselves with free rein in the city. They target a bank, attempting to airlift the vault out of it, but the alarm alerts the Stilwater PD and the Saints are incarcerated. In prison, they learn that the bank they tried to rob was owned by a huge international crime organization called the Syndicate, led by Phillipe Loren. After bribing the police, the Syndicate capture the Saints' leader, Johnny Gat, and Shaundi to try and negotiate a business plan with them, aboard Loren's private jet. While in-flight, Loren tells them they will be allowed to live if they turn over two-thirds of their territory in Stilwater. The leader of the Saints rejects this offer, and a gunfight breaks out, with the Saints being thrown from the jet; ultimately, they land safely.
With the Syndicate in full control of Stilwater, the Saints relocate themselves to the city of Steelport. Pierce is instructed to remain in Stilwater to make sure everything runs smoothly. Steelport is a city that was created as factories flourished with little city planning, and since has suffered from economic failure, contrasting the glamour of Stilwater. The Syndicate has already begun to take control of some parts of Steelport, focusing on vices like gambling and prostitution. To extend their reach, the Syndicate had divided their control of the city through three gangs. The Morning Star, lead by Loren directly, are typically European men with impeccable taste, selling guns and handling the prostitution rings. The Mexican wrestler Killbane controls the Luchadores who deal with selling drugs and gambling. The Deckers, led by Hacktivist  Matt Miller, are computer geniuses, and handle the money laundering. The Saints see the opportunity to take control of Steelport from these groups. As the gang wars intensify, a fourth group, the government trained Special Tactical Anti-Gang (STAG) units will attempt to halt any gang activity whether it be the Saints or the Syndicate.

Is a game published by Ubisoftand due for release in 2012. Excluding expansions, it is the fourth installment in the Ghost Recon series, and was announced to be in development by Ubisoft on January 22, 2009. The game will be a futuristic take on the Ghost Recon series.

The story will take place in Norway the Middle East and Asia. The Ghosts will be fighting an Ultra-nationalist force that took control of Russia and are invading neighboring countries. The player will take control of a 4-man Ghost squad consisting of a commando (Kozak), a sniper (Pepper), a reconnaissance expert (30k), and an engineer (Bones).
The Wii and PSP versions have different storylines.

The game is a third person shooter for most of the game, but when the player stops or enters a key location, the game switches to a first person camera in order to utilize more precise aiming.  Also, the cover can be partially destroyed, forcing the players to constantly seek other hiding spots. A new feature in the series is the "optical camouflage",  which allows the Ghosts to become instantly invisible. According to the game designer Rafael Morado, the optical camo technology, however, is still a prototype and there are as many disadvantages as there are advantages and its use will initially be extremely limited.  According to writer Gabrielle Shrager, it is also possible to control drones.

Ubisoft announced that Future Soldier would be delayed once again for an April 2011 – March 2012 release.

Mass Effect 3

Faced with insurmountable odds, Shepard is forced to flee the planet in order to gather support from alien civilizations and mount a counter-attack while also having to deal with Cerberus, who have decided to turn against him/her.
In an interview with PSM3 Magazine Casey Hudson said of the plot, "Mass Effect 3, in simple terms, a little more like the first game. You're collecting pieces of a story, but the more you investigate and explore these themes, the more the game will unlock and you'll see the bigger picture. In a way, it's more of a traditional story where you're learning about things and the plot changes as you find things out.

The Dark Eye: Demonicon

Is an upcoming fantasy-themed role play for the Xbox 360 and PC, and is to be published by The Games Company and developed in-house by Silver Style Entertainment.

The team has now 35 developers and the game will be released in 2012 for PC and Xbox 360.

BioShock Infinite

Is an upcoming first person shooter, and the third game in the Bioshock series. Previously known as "Project Icarus", it is being developed by Irrational Games for a 2012 release on the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360  platforms. BioShock Infinite is not a direct sequel or prequel to previous BioShock games, taking place in an earlier period and different setting, though it features similar gameplay concepts and themes. The player controls a former Pinkerton agent, Booker DeWitt, as he attempts to rescue a woman trapped aboard the collapsing air-city Columbia in 1912.

The events of the game take place in 1912. The player assumes the identity of Booker DeWitt, a disgraced former agent of the Pinkerton National Detective Agency  who was dismissed for behavior beyond the acceptable bounds of the Agency. He is hired by mysterious individuals, aware of Columbia's location, and tasked to infiltrate the air-city and rescue a young woman named Elizabeth, who has been held aboard the air-city for the last twelve years.
Though DeWitt finds Elizabeth easily enough, he quickly discovers that Elizabeth is central to the civil war raging in the city as each faction seeks to use Elizabeth to turn the tide of the conflict in their favor, forcing DeWitt and Elizabeth to trust each other in order to escapeTo complicate matters, the pair is chased by Songbird, a large, robotic bird-like creature who had been Elizabeth's friend and warden over the last twelve years of her imprisonment.
Songbird was designed by its creator to feel betrayal should Elizabeth escape, comparable to an "abusive husband", according to Hilary Goldstein of IGN and Elizabeth notes she "would rather be killed than be recaptured by Songbird".
In addition to the internal strife, Columbia is ravaged by tears in the Fabric of space time.
A strange shimmering effect as seen by DeWitt causes momentary changes to pictures, banners, and people, representing the nearby presence of a tear. The tears have brought seemingly-anacronistic elements into the Columbia of 1912; for example, an early gameplay demo footage features a record player in a bar plays a woman singing the lyrics to Tears for fears' "Everybody wants to rule the world".  1up.com 's preview of the 2011 E3 game demonstration denotes that one point, DeWitt and Elizabeth find themselves in 1983, a result of a misfire of Elizabeth's powers involving tears in the fabric of space-time when she tries to help revive a horse.
Though the game takes place before the events of the previous two BioShock games (occurring in 1960 and 1968), Irrational Games has not confirmed if BioShock Infinite shares the same universe with these titles; Ken Levine left the question of the possibility unanswered in an interview stemming from the game's announcement

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

Is the third game in the Uncharted series, created by Naughty dog for the Playstation 3, and due for release in North America on November 1, 2011, Europe on November 4, 2011 and Australia on Q4 2011.

Creative director Amy Hennig has explained that the desire for a desert-themed Uncharted stemmed from wanting to push the team creatively and technologically, as "organic" elements such as sand, water, and fire are "technically difficult to credibly render with animation".
New features in Uncharted 3 will include "enhanced backward climbing", automatic ammunition pickup, and the ability to fight multiple enemies at once. Enemy AI is improved, providing the ability for enemies to form squads. Multiplayer and co-op features will also be greatly expanded. It will also support stereoscopic 3D.
Game director Justin Richmond explained that the game will feel more open than other Uncharted games. "We're not an open-world game, we're never going to be an open-world game. It's still up in the air how much gameplay we're going to let you wander around. But we're never going to let you just ride a thousand miles off into the middle of nowhere. Ultimately the feel we want to get is, yeah, you're lost in the desert. So it needs to feel like that. But it's not going to feel open-world."
Naughty Dog said "A Great Move game is a game made around Move and we started Uncharted long before that. It would be very difficult for us to adjust it. We tried a couple of things but it wasn’t making a lot of sense."
Naughty Dog community strategist, Arne Meyer, has said that Uncharted 3 is created like a Hollywood film. The Uncharted series has received praise for its movie-like sections, which Naughty Dog hopes to continue to work on.

Twisted Metal

Sometimes referred to as "Twisted Metal PS3" is an upcoming 2011 Vehicle combat  Video Game developed by Eat Sleep Play and published by Sony Computer Entertainment exclusively for the Playstation 3 video games console. It is the eighth installment in the series of the Same name. The game is set to be released on October 4, 2011.

The game focuses heavily on multiplayer combat, including various online game modes with up to 4 player split-screen and 16-players online. For example, the Nuke Mode is a new online game mode where you choose a faction to play against an opposing faction. In this mode, each faction has a giant metal statue that is being held in the air by a helicopter, which the opposing team must try to destroy. In order to destroy these statues, the player must abduct the enemy team's leader, then sacrifice the leader to a missile launcher that will, in turn, launch a nuclear missile. The person who sacrifices the leader and launches the missile has to control it to hit the opposing teams statue in the air. In order to win the opposing team has to repeat the process 3 times before the statue is destroyed for a team to win. Four factions have been revealed so far: the Clowns, the Dolls, the Skulls, and the Preachers. The former having been announced as being inspired by Sweet Tooth (Twisted Metal series) and Dollface (Twisted Metal: Black) respectively. The latter are assumably led by Mr. Grimm (Twisted Metal series) and The Preacher (Twisted Metal: Black) respectively.

The Lord of the Rings: War in the North

Is a role-play action game in development by Snowblind Studios.  It is based on the events taking place in the northern regions of Middle Earth  in the background of the main story of J.R.R Tolkien's Lord Of The Rings  Players will take control of a hero of the war, and will be able to play through the game alone or cooperatively with other players, with the ability adjust the percentage of experience the co-op partner receives.
In a preview article in Playstation magazine, it was discussed that players will have certain skills that are upgradeable, characters that can be customized, and conversations play out similarly to Mass effect without the moral ramifications.
The game is scheduled for release in North America on August 24, 2011. The game will feature stronger graphic violence than previous Lord of the Rings games and is expected to be the first game in the series to receive an M rating from the ESRB.

The Darkness II

Is the upcoming sequel to 2007's The Darkness.  It will be developed by Digital Extremes, published by 2K Games and written by Paul Jenkins. It will be released in late 2011 for PC, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3.

The Darkness II has similar game play as the first game, but in the sequel there is a new tactic called "quad wielding". It allows lead character Jackie to use his darkness powers while at the same time use firearms. There is more focus on the aspect of darklings, with there now being only one primary darkling which will hold greater importance and will be more involved in the storyline. It has been revealed that it will be able to interact with the environment by using items such as a workers drill to attack and torture your enemies and it will also be able to use standard weaponry such as pistols to attack or threaten them. Jackie can use the environment for help and can do actions such as use car doors as shields and parking meters to impale things. Unlike in the first game, you will be able to use your weaponry and darkness abilities in public places.
The game textures will be more aligned to the comic book and are designed using a Cel-shading  technique, similar to the style used in Boarderlands, to give this effect. There will also be the ability to use your demon arms for 'finishing moves', whereas the player can execute the enemy in ways such as ripping people into two, and your darkling can also use special attacks, such as urinating acid on enemies. The character and player will feel more uncomfortable in light, with exposure to light resulting in blurring of vision occupied with a high pitched ringing. Light will be more of a physical threat as well with there having a 'light vs darkness' feel. The voice of The Darkness will again be voiced by musician Mike Patton, however the voice of Jackie Estacado Kirk Acevedo has been replaced by Nolan North.

The Darkness II takes place two years later in the life of Jackie Estacado, the current wielder of the darkness who has used his powers to become the Don of the Franchetti crime family, and for The Darkness II his characteristics have been said to be more "well rounded". He has been unable to shake the thoughts of his dead girlfriend Jenny since he contained his supernatural powers and now the Darkness "wants out". A sudden, unprovoked attack on Jackie’s life heralds the start of a full-scale mob war, which has clearly been orchestrated by some outside force. The assassination attempt reawakens the Darkness, sending Jackie on a trip to hell and back as he discovers the mystery of the attack and motivations of the Darkness itself.
So far there have been two demos that have been released exclusively to game critics and have been received with high praise. The first depicts Jackie being crucified and torched by a mob who want him to give up his darkness powers. The second one shows Jackie experiencing an unexpected attack in a restaurant and then ultimately having a gun fight on the railway lines before being struck by an oncoming train.

Spider-Man: Edge of Time

Is an upcoming video game by the Activision-owned developer Beenox.  The game is written by Peter David,  and will feature a new "cause-and-effect" gameplay system where one of Spider-Man's actions will effect the other or vice versa. It is set to arrive in Fall 2011. Information on the game was released at Wondercon on April 2, 2011. An example of this is that if Peter Parker was to destroy a robot prototype, the finished robot would not exist in Miguel O'Hara's time.

Spec Ops: The Line

Is an upcoming third person shooter video game being developed by Yager Development and published by 2K games.  The game is the ninth installment in the long-running Spec Ops series and it set to release sometime in 2012. The game will release on the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360  platforms. It was officially announced at Spike Video Game Awards  on December 12, 2009. The game is inspired by Joseph Conrad's novella Heart of darkness.

Although in the Spec Ops series, The Line does not take any story elements from previous games, but rather introduces its own storyline. The game will follow the story of player character Captain Martin Walker (Voiced by Nolan North) as he is sent into a post-apocalyptic Dubai with an elite Delta Force bravo team. Previously, Dubai was a wealthy area with many high profile citizens until catastrophic sandstorms left a majority of the city buried. This caused many to evacuate, leaving only a few behind. One of the people left behind was U.S. Army Colonel John Konrad (a reference to the author of Heart of Darkness; Joseph Conrad), a founding member of Delta Force, who refused to evacuate from a training facility in the city and instead remained behind with the men under his command to help protect the citizens that could not evacuate. After several weeks of no contact, the Army fears that Col. Konrad and his men are lost to the destruction of the city until a weak distress signal is picked up. This gives the Army reason to deploy the player and their squad, who must infiltrate the city, neutralize outlaws and survive sandstorms as they attempt to determine what happened to Konrad and his men. Through the narrative in the trailer and sound clips from the game's website it is hinted that Konrad may not have entirely genuine motivations for remaining in Dubai against orders.

To oversee the city, Sharp hires psychiatrist Hugo Strange who appears to have his own secret agenda for the city.
