Spider-Man: Edge of Time
Is an upcoming video game by the Activision-owned developer Beenox. The game is written by Peter David, and will feature a new "cause-and-effect" gameplay system where one of Spider-Man's actions will effect the other or vice versa. It is set to arrive in Fall 2011. Information on the game was released at Wondercon on April 2, 2011. This is the second Spider-Man title to be developed by Beenox, following Spiderman:Shatterd Dimentions of 2010, and the first released since Activision's decision to make Beenox the lead developer on all future Spider-Man games.
The plot revolves around the player switching between timelines of Marvel 2099 Universes, playing as both Peter Parker/Spiderman and Miguel O" Hara/Spiderman 2099 , to try and prevent a catastrophe resulting from Peter Parker's untimely death, caused by an evil scientist from the 2099 universe. It has been stated that the actions of Peter Parker can affect the the world of Miguel O'Hara. An example of this is that if Peter Parker was to destroy a robot prototype, the finished robot would not exist in Miguel O'Hara's time.
