Is the upcoming fifth title in the Hitman Series by producer, 10 Interactive, Hitman: Absolution will be the first game in the series to be published by Square Enix, after their 2009 acquisition of Eidos Interactive. The game will be available for the Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. Notably, it is the series' debut on the PlayStation 3 console. Hitman: Absolution will run on IO Interactive's proprietary Glacier 2 game engine, combining classic Hitman game mechanics with brand new mechanics. The game's story will further delve into the mysterious life of Agent 47 the series' protagonist. Hitman.
Hitman: Absolution in Europe, leading sites to speculate that it would be the name of the fifth Hitman game. On 6 May 2011 a teaser trailer was released, confirming the title: Hitman Absolution. The short, 27 second trailer, briefly showed Agent 47 attaching a suppressor and a rattle snake coiled around his signature Silverballer pistol. It has been reported the game will be "familiar and yet significantly different experience from other Hitman Games.
Agent 47’s handler, Diana Burnwood, is rumoured to have a “close relationship” with 47 in Absolution.
The main antagonist is revealed to be Blake Dexter, a new character to the series. The character will be voiced by Keith Karradine.
It has been confirmed by the developers that the game is only going to be set in the US with one portion taking place in Chicargo The other locations as of yet remain unconfirmed.
The game will be released around 2012.
